Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide derived from microorganisms that is used in cosmetic formulations as a water-soluble derivative. It forms a moisturizing film on the skin, supports the skin’s barrier function, and can promote skin regeneration after exposure to stressors. Clinical studies also show that it has a protective effect against external stressors.

POLYGLUTAMIC ACID AND HYALURONIC ACID

Polyglutamic acid (PGA) is a water-soluble, fermentation-derived biopolymer with strong moisture-binding properties. It forms a protective film on the skin’s surface and helps retain moisture for longer. In addition, PGA can slow the breakdown of hyaluronic acid by inhibiting the activity of hyaluronidase.

Hyaluronic acid is a key component of the extracellular matrix and plays an essential role in maintaining skin hydration. Due to its ability to bind water in the epidermis, hyaluronic acid also has a plumping effect in skincare.

PANTHENOL

Provitamin B5 (panthenol) is a precursor to pantothenic acid, a component of the
coenzyme A, which is involved in various physiological processes such as lipid synthesis in the epidermis. When applied topically, panthenol has moisturizing and skin-nourishing effects, supports the regeneration of the skin barrier, and can thereby reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

LACTOBACILLUS FERMENT LYSATE, a vegan postbiotic derived from Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens, contains the active ingredient kefiran. It helps the skin protect itself against free radicals, counteracts oxidative stress, and helps reduce redness. At the same time, it can strengthen the skin barrier and improve the skin’s elasticity and firmness.

PREBIOTICS

The prebiotics ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDES and INULIN serve as
