PREBIOTICS

The prebiotics ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDES and INULIN serve as a food source for bacteria and can thus work together to support the skin’s commensal flora and strengthen the skin barrier by inhibiting the growth of unwanted bacteria on the skin. Together, they can alleviate skin symptoms such as dryness and itching.

POSTBIOTICS

The postbiotic BIFIDA FERMENT LYSATE reduces skin redness and strengthens the skin barrier by increasing the production of proteins that help stabilize the skin’s cellular structures. LACTOCOCCUS FERMENT LYSATE promotes skin renewal and accelerates the restoration of the skin barrier. It can improve the function of the skin barrier, optimize skin hydration, and regulate the skin’s pH level, which may allow the skin’s lipid-forming enzymes to function close to their optimal pH.

SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an enzymatic antioxidant. It possesses both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and strengthens and protects the collagen and elastin matrix. As a catalyst, SOD accelerates the neutralization of free radicals and is not consumed during the antioxidant reaction.

VITAMIN C DERIVATIVES

The stable and well-tolerated trio of vitamin C derivatives—ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, and ascorbyl glucoside—was used at a concentration that, in addition to its antioxidant properties, can also help reduce hyperpigmentation and improve skin texture.

Yes, the serum can be combined with all other active ingredients, except for peroxides such as benzoyl peroxide (BPO), as these can cancel out each other's effects.

Please note that we cannot make specific recommendations for products from other brands. The entire DR. EMI ARPA SKIN product line is designed to work together. We can recommend using these products in combination.

The Serious C Complex Antioxidant Serum is an addition to the T-Treat step in the DR. EMI ARPA SKIN routine. For example, it can be applied in the morning after the cleanser and toner, followed by the moisturizer and SPF—or just SPF. In the evening, one of the two Absolute A Retinal products can be used instead of the Serious C Complex Antioxidant Serum. If you don’t use Absolute A/A+, you can also use the Serious C Complex Antioxidant Serum in the same order in the evening.

The Serious C Complex Antioxidant Serum can be used twice a day without any concerns.
