SODIUM LEVULINATE

Sodium levulinate is the sodium salt of levulinic acid. As a preservative, it can help improve the shelf life of products by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. In the European Union, there are no restrictions on the use of sodium levulinate in cosmetic products; it is considered non-irritating and safe.(1)
