3-O-ETHYL ASCORBIC ACID

The chemical compound 3-ethyl ascorbic acid is a stable vitamin C derivative and is used in cosmetics for its skin-brightening, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and elasticity-enhancing properties.(1–3) In one study, an emulsion (O/W) containing 3% ascorbic acid resulted in an improved epidermal-dermal microstructure and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles following application.(4)
